Kifah (Noun in Arabic): Struggle, Fight

Once, I was young and a stranger to myself because of my disability; I was born with it, and surprisingly, no one in my family has acknowledged it. Many moons have passed since I began, in silence, to accept it unconditionally but not reluctantly a bit. So, I had learned to pray before I could coo, babble, or make any short sound. To some extent, nature instills an extra dose of hope in making categories like mine sustainable in the harsh realities.

It’s been over half a century, then some more years, yet I have not heard an echo or resonance for my appeals. All my quiet weeping had a common theme: shower me down the miracle of antidote to blossom, to travel beyond! Disregarding the seven heavens, they must have rules; the expanding, unending universe sprints under unwavering ordinances. Rules precede hopes and prayers. Always!

There must have been, however, a beginning for the macrocosm, and during that moment, how the rules, chance, and probabilities worked in harmony so meticulously is anybody’s conjecture! It’s less confrontational to assume that controls had an intervention at the start, perhaps divine, to cajole life rather than barren lands of dust and rocks in all places. The same is true for luck, which, too, plays a significant role when we learn the science of conception for human embryos. Why some rules work in favor or luck prevails occasionally is only a mystery forever. Over time, everything changes and emerges magnificently. However, an unknown lodestar coaxes us not to explore how rules of creation are sometimes straightforward or helpful in every situation but are primarily functional for most but not all. A concept that seems ridiculous to fit anywhere specific on the psyche’s canvas—or anywhere at all. But that’s how things are, with or without our affection! The bouquets of our hopes, prayers, and dreams are hemmed with the laws governing the cosmos, but they yield the ultimate Kifah. An exact script of how to endure or a prescription of strength for our arduous expedition is nowhere to be found, with only emphasis on persistence and wrestling to alight the heart when we are willing to obey. Until!
